MarginPing Privacy Policy
Last updated October 28, 2026. Version 2026-10-28.
MarginPing is not open for signups yet. This policy describes how the service handles data from the day you create an account.
This policy explains what MarginPing ("we", "us"), a business operated from Las Vegas, Nevada, collects, why, who sees it, and how you can have it deleted. It is part of our Terms of Service. It is written to be consistent with eBay's Privacy Notice, and we do not handle eBay data in any way eBay's notice does not allow.
1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service.
- Account email. To sign you in (through Clerk), send receipts, service notices and free report emails, and answer support requests.
- Products you upload. If you upload reports from your own Amazon Seller Central account (the All Listings Report and, if you choose, the Fee Preview Report) or a spreadsheet you make, we keep the product details MarginPing needs: the ASIN, product identifiers such as UPC or model number, the title, your price, your fee estimate, and the date of the upload. We read the file to build your watches and do not keep the file itself.
- Amazon seller ID and Amazon tokens, only if you connect Amazon. Connecting Amazon is optional. If you connect, we store your seller ID and the OAuth refresh token Amazon gives us. The token is encrypted before it is stored.
- Your watch list. The products you watch, from your upload, your Amazon listings, or ASINs you type, plus the watch settings you choose (profit line, condition, negative words).
- Amazon product data for your watches, only if you connect Amazon. Catalog details, offers, prices, and fee estimates for your ASINs, kept per account (see section 4).
- Telegram chat ID. So we can send alerts to your Telegram account. We do not see your Telegram phone number, contacts, or messages other than taps on our alert buttons. You give this consent when you connect Telegram. You can stop alerts at any time by blocking our bot in Telegram, and you can ask us by email to delete your chat ID.
- Stripe customer ID and plan status. Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your full card number.
- Service records. The alerts we send you, the taps on alert buttons (such as marking a match wrong), and the emails we send you, including any unsubscribe. We use them to run the service and improve matching. They contain no eBay user information.
- Technical data. Your IP address and browser type in server logs, kept for security and debugging.
- Agreement records. Which version of our Terms you accepted, when, and from which IP address and browser.
2. What we never collect
- Your passwords, for MarginPing, Amazon, or anything else. Sign in is handled by Clerk.
- Your eBay credentials. You never connect an eBay account to MarginPing.
- Buyer personal information. The Amazon access we request is limited so that we do not receive your customers' names, addresses, or order contact details, and the reports we ask you to upload do not contain them.
- Any eBay user information. We do not collect or store eBay usernames or user IDs.
3. eBay listing data
eBay listing data (title, price, condition, photos, and link) comes from eBay and belongs to eBay and the listing's seller. We handle it like this:
- Deleted within 24 hours. The raw data we receive from eBay, and the listing details we keep to match and alert, are deleted within 24 hours of when we got them.
- Alert history keeps only our own numbers. We keep the eBay item number, match time, and our profit estimate. eBay details are re-checked when you open them, and ended listings show only that they ended. Alert messages we already sent you in Telegram are edited after about 6 hours to remove the eBay listing details.
- No eBay user data. We never store eBay usernames or user IDs, and we never contact eBay users.
- eBay deletion notices. When eBay tells us that an eBay user has asked for account deletion, we delete the matching data.
- No model training. We do not use eBay content to train algorithms, run machine learning, or build datasets. Our matching improvements come from your feedback on our own rules (for example, negative words you add), not from eBay text.
- Not sold, not shared. We do not sell or give eBay content to anyone, and we do not combine it with data from other sources to profile people.
4. Amazon data and separation between accounts
Products you upload and Amazon data fetched with your authorization are stored against your account only. Every record carries your account ID, and the system is built and tested so that data from one customer is never shown to or used for another customer. We use this data only to provide MarginPing to you: to build your watches and to calculate profit on eBay matches. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or for any other purpose.
If you revoke Amazon access, we stop calling Amazon for your account, delete your stored tokens right away, and delete the Amazon prices, fees, offers, and rank data we fetched for your account the same day (always within 30 days). Product details we imported from your Amazon listings when you added a watch (such as title, brand, model, and UPC) stay with that watch until you delete it or close your account. Products you uploaded yourself stay until you delete them or close your account.
5. How we use your information
- To run the service: watch eBay, calculate profit, and send alerts.
- To bill you and keep your account secure.
- To send service emails (receipts, failed payments, Amazon disconnected, Telegram bot blocked). We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it. If you start the free report or sign up, we may send a short onboarding email series, and you can stop it with the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To fix bugs and improve the product, using service records.
- To follow the law and enforce our Terms.
7. Security
Amazon tokens are encrypted at rest. Connections use HTTPS. Access to production data is limited to us. Every database record that belongs to a customer carries that customer's account ID, and we test for cross-account access. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident that affects your data or your Amazon connection, we will revoke the affected access, tell you without unreasonable delay, and notify Amazon and anyone else the law or our agreements require.
8. How long we keep things
- Raw eBay data and eBay listing details: deleted within 24 hours.
- Match history (eBay item number, match time, and our profit estimate): up to 90 days.
- Amazon tokens and Amazon price data: tokens are deleted right away, and the Amazon prices, fees, offers, and rank data the same day you disconnect Amazon or your account closes. Product details imported with a watch stay until you delete the watch or close your account.
- Products you uploaded: until you delete them or close your account.
- Account and watch data: while your account is open.
- After you close your account: account data, uploaded products, watches, and alert history are deleted within 30 days, except the records listed below.
- Billing records: 7 years, held mainly by Stripe.
- Agreement, cancellation and billing-notice records (Terms version, time, IP address, browser, and the renewal and price emails we sent): 3 years after your account closes, then deleted.
- Server logs: kept only as long as we need them for security and debugging. They do not contain eBay listing content.
9. Deleting your data
You can ask for deletion at any time by emailing [email protected] from your account email. We will confirm by email and complete deletion within 30 days, except the records we must keep, listed in section 8. Disconnecting Amazon deletes your Amazon tokens right away and your Amazon price data the same day. You can delete uploaded products from your dashboard at any time.
The exception: when you close your account or ask for deletion, we keep your agreement, cancellation and billing-notice records (Terms version, time, IP address, browser, and the renewal and price emails we sent, which includes your account email as the address we sent them to) for 3 years after your account closes, then delete them. We keep them only to show that you agreed to the Terms, that you cancelled, and that we gave the notice we promised, and we use them for nothing else. Billing records stay for 7 years as section 8 says.
10. Your privacy choices (California and other states)
California's consumer privacy law does not apply to a business our size, and neither do the similar laws of other states, but we offer the same choices to everyone. You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to give you a copy. You can also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Email [email protected] and we aim to answer within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
11. Nevada and California notice

How to review or change your data: in your dashboard, or by emailing [email protected].
