Tools for sourcing on eBay, compared by fit

Last checked

We build MarginPing, and it is one of the six options here. We list the tools by fit rather than as a ranking, and where another tool fits a seller better we say so.

Facts about other products are per their public pages on 2026-10-28, linked in the sources at the end. Where a page does not say something, we write "not stated". Plans, prices and trials change, so check each vendor's page before you pay.

How we compared them

  1. What it starts from: your own product list, a feed of opportunities, or keywords.
  2. Where it looks: eBay only, or several marketplaces.
  3. How it tells you: email, an app, or a dashboard you check.
  4. Who it fits: the kind of seller who gets the most from it.

We left out prices on purpose. They change often, and each vendor's pricing page is linked below. We also left out review scores for every tool, ours included.

A fair test works for any tool here. Pick five products you know well and run the tool for a week. Count how many alerts or leads you would have acted on, how many were wrong matches, and how old each listing was when you saw it.

Replen Catcher

Per their pages on 2026-10-28, Replen Catcher lets you upload your own product list and track those items on eBay, with a target buy price and an alert when a listing comes in at or below it. Every plan also includes a Live Stream feed of eBay opportunities with filters for profit, return, category and more, and it covers auctions as well as fixed-price and Best Offer listings. Connecting an Amazon account is optional. The pricing page says all plans include a 14-day trial. The alert channel is not stated on the pages read.

This is the closest tool to MarginPing in what it does. If your catalog is outside power tools today, it covers more categories than we do.

uBuyFirst

Per their home page on 2026-10-28, uBuyFirst is eBay search software for resellers with alerts for new items, and it says it can match listing results to your product catalog with custom rules that flag profitable or problematic items. Its pricing page did not load on that date, so its price and trial are not stated here. How it handles Amazon fees is not stated on the page read.

If you want fine control over your own rules and are comfortable configuring software, it is worth a look.

Flipmine

Per their home page on 2026-10-28, Flipmine is an analytics tool for finding eBay products to resell, with a workflow of find, check Amazon seller eligibility, buy on eBay, and resell through Amazon FBA or Walmart Marketplace. Its page lists a 7-day trial. Alert channels, and whether it matches to your own product list, are not stated on the page read.

Swoopa

Per their home page on 2026-10-28, Swoopa is built around alerts for private-party vehicles, drawing from Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Kijiji, Gumtree, Nextdoor and eBay. Its pricing page lists month-to-month and committed plans and a 7-day start. Which plan includes eBay, matching to an Amazon catalog, and Amazon fee math are not stated on the pages read.

eBay saved searches

Per eBay's help page on 2026-10-28, you create saved searches for items you regularly look for, and eBay sends email alerts when new matching items are listed. They are built into eBay, the page lists no charge for them, and for many products they are enough. They work from your keywords and show no Amazon price or profit. The page does not say how often the emails go out. More in eBay saved searches compared.

MarginPing

MarginPing is the tool we make, so weigh our description against the others. It works from the products you already sell: upload the All Listings Report from Seller Central, or connect your seller account read-only for live prices. It watches new eBay listings for those products, matches each by model number and UPC, reads kit versus bare tool and lot size, works out Amazon fees and your profit, and sends a Telegram message. It never buys, bids, or messages a seller.

Replen Catcher says it tracks a product list you upload, and uBuyFirst says it can match results to your product catalog, so working from your own products is not unique to us. What we can describe is our handling of kits, bare tools and lots, and the Amazon math in each Telegram alert.

What it does not do: it does not look for products you have not given it, it does not look at retail websites, it does not send SMS, and it starts with power tools and tool kits only. It is in final testing and not open for signups yet. See power tools for the detail.

Which to look at, by situation

  1. You sell power tools on Amazon and buy on eBay. MarginPing is being built for exactly this. Keep saved searches running too.
  2. You want a tracked list plus a broad eBay feed, in any category. Look at Replen Catcher.
  3. You want custom rules in software you configure. Look at uBuyFirst.
  4. You flip vehicles or work across several marketplaces. Look at Swoopa.
  5. You want search plus Amazon eligibility checks. Look at Flipmine.
  6. You are just starting and have no product list. Use saved searches while you learn which products you know.
  7. You source mostly from retail websites. Read MarginPing vs Tactical Arbitrage or paid lead lists compared.

Nothing here is exclusive. For the full method from listing to profit, see how to check whether an eBay listing clears your profit line on Amazon.

Questions

What is the best tool for sourcing on eBay?

There is no single best. It depends on whether you want custom rules, a broad feed, vehicle alerts, or Amazon profit math for your own products. Test the ones that fit on five products you know well.

What is a good uBuyFirst alternative?

Do any of these buy for me?

MarginPing does not. Check each vendor's pages for its own behavior.

How current is this list?
